Every twin-building option — whatever it's called — fits one of three levels, simplest to most powerful:

A dedicated Project in Claude (or custom GPT / Gem). Instructions + a few docs, and every chat starts already knowing you.

TIP// The honest advice
Start at Level 1. Yes, even if you're ambitious. Every good Level 3 twin is a Level 1 twin that earned promotions. People who start at L3 usually quit; people who start at L1 usually upgrade.

NOTE// A word on tool brands
We demo with Claude because Projects, memory, and connectors map perfectly onto our recipe. Levels are universal: ChatGPT calls L1 a "custom GPT" or Project; Gemini calls it a "Gem." The instructions you'll write are plain English — they paste into any of them. You're learning a method, not a product.
03Which level is yours — 30-second quiz.
- Used an AI chatbot more than ~10 times? No → Level 1. Yes → continue.
- Does your first task need your live calendar or inbox? No → L1. Yes → L1 now, plan L2 in two weeks.
- Automating a whole business process? Still start at L1 this week; put L3 on next month's calendar.
Spot the pattern? Everyone starts at Level 1.
04Create your twin's home — right now.
Time to do, not just read. Three clicks to create your empty Project:
- In claude.ai's left sidebar, click Projects.
- Click Create project.
- Name it whatever makes you smile — "My Digital Twin," "Aly 2.0," "The Intern."
- Click Create project. Done.
TIP// If your screen looks different
Apps update constantly. Look for two ideas: (a) a place that groups chats together ("Projects" / "GPTs" / "Gems"), (b) a "create new" button inside it. Can't find it? Ask the chatbot: "How do I create a new Project?" — it knows its own app.
DO THIS// Homework — 10 minutes
- Create your empty Project. It'll feel anticlimactic — perfect.
- In a chat inside it, type: "You're going to become my digital twin over the next few days. For now, just say hello."
- Write down which level you're aiming for in a month (1, 2, or 3).
